A NEW LEAF

Gone are the days

When we used to play

With our lives;

With our future.

When we lived

Without purpose;

As if our lives

Had no purpose.

Those were the days

When we feared,

And held in high esteem

What others think.

Faking identities,

To 'fit in'.

Striving to stay

In others' shadows.

Gone are the days

When we gave excuses

To things we could

Do right, not wrong.

When we lied

And cried

To hide the fact

That we lied.

Those were the days

When we were abandoned.

For we had gifts

Others failed to realize.

When we seemed to confirm

What they for long assumed;

That we are worthless;

Completely useless.

There were days

When we lived

The opposite

Of what we dreamed.

Taking time for granted

Like there's no tomorrow.

Living the lie;

Chasing the shadows.

But now are the days

We realize our worth;

Discover our true selves,

Recover our lost senses.

And no longer care

What they say.

Be it good or bad,

We Let them say.

For we look forward

To the days

When we will step

Into the priority Lane.

When we will become

The choicest choice,

The twinkle stars,

The shinning ones.

And in those days,

We will sit in glory,

Escape accidents;

Escape their teeth.

We will heal the sick,

Lift the meek,

Help the weak

And die empty.
