MY STORY UNTOLD

MY STORY UNTOLD

Ama Ghana
A country full of Gold
Good people, innocent souls
They used to call her Coast of Gold
Gold Coast, so we were told

And then the invaders came
To our shores, in ships they came
Were they gods or were they same?
Their skin color made us insane

They taught us religion
They taught us to pray
Divided us into regions
We became their prey

They shared us among their own
And seized all we owned
They took us from our homes
And sold us to their homes

They showed us soul winning
Yet practiced gold digging
They gave fake pleasure
And stole our treasure
Thieves,

They poised our hearts
They pierced our hearts
They polluted our minds
They poisoned our minds

With silly greed
To sell our breed.
For our daily bread,
Our own kind bled

Yet, our youth run to them
That sold our fathers into slavery
Willing to offer to them
Their selves, voluntary slavery

Their minds, mental slavery
Their body, sex slavery
Their feelings, emotional slavery
When they should rather, fight slavery
Pity.

We had our freedom
Yes, led by Nkrumah
We had our freedom
And fled Nkrumah

We gave to the jailer
He who was once our savior
He gave us our homeland
And we made him homeless

The land, once filled with gold
Is now filled with gold diggers
Gathering tons of gold
In the name of Jesus

Politicians, Gansters
Ministers, Fraudsters
Slay Queens, Pastors
Teachers, no, cheaters

Policemen, Fathers
Lawyers, no, liars
Professional Backstabbers
Bloody gold diggers

I see an Africa
Running  to its roots
A brand new Africa
Investing in the youth

For we were buried
Only to germinate
We were worried,
But will soon dominate.

For Our children are smarter
Our oldmen, wiser.
Economic growth, faster
Our ladies, prettier

What we knew,
We now know again
The Africa we knew
shall rise again.

  2. Wow.... Well articulated. This is a true reflection of the slavery that captured not only our bodies but minds.
